Working with a Realtor, we began looking for a new home. After seeing nearly a dozen, we were becoming somewhat jaded with large, impersonal home developers. So, when we found the home we wanted, and met the private builder, Frank Porcari, owner of Ottawa Carleton Construction, it seemed like a much better way to go.
We loved the lot, the community, and especially the workmanship in our new OCC home... which was so much better than even the higher-end, mass-produced, tract homes... and most custom-built homes, too.
Frank was very involved throughout, and has always been true to his word. We felt comfortable with him... not the sense of ‘jumping into an abyss’ we’d felt trying to deal with huge, faceless companies that treated us like a number.

When we first moved in, we noticed the door to our then one-year old daughter’s bedroom wasn’t closing properly, so we called Frank... and he came to fix it that same day.

When I needed to buy a home, I knew that I didn’t want a ‘fixer-upper’ – rather a low maintenance one in move-in condition; i.e. a worry-free one. This meant finding a quality house and a reputable builder.
Frank Porcari’s home in Shadow Ridge was one of the first I saw, and after looking at several others I quickly returned to Frank’s because it clearly represented high-quality... and by far the best value for my money. Built by Frank’s company, Ottawa Carleton Construction, it was obvious the other houses I’d seen simply didn’t compare with OCC’s custom‑built quality standard. It was also located in a great neighborhood, which, as the single Mom of a six-year-old son, was very important to me.
As a working Mom I don’t have the luxury of time – or in my case the ability – for fixing or repairing things, and as with all new homes, there have been a few little things that have needed attention. Whenever I’ve called Frank, he’s always called me right back and has taken care of things within a day or two. He has even taken care of things that weren’t his responsibility – but were part of the home he sold me. This tells me Frank is clearly vested in the houses he builds.
He seems to understand he doesn’t just build houses... rather he builds homes.
Although I love my home, Frank's ongoing commitment to my home and me has really impressed me. My son and I love the Shadow Ridge Community, and I take great comfort in knowing I can count on Frank and the OCC team whenever I need them... worry free.

In late 2007 we decided it was time to find a new home, so we listed ours and began the search. We knew we wanted a larger home on a larger property, but kept our minds open about where our new home would be.

I was looking for a new home, but couldn’t find anything that peaked my interest. In most cases the prices builders were asking seemed way too high compared to the actual value being offered.
At a friend’s suggestion I contacted Frank Porcari at Ottawa Carleton Construction, who told us to look for a piece of land we liked and then call him back. We did just that, so we called Frank, who came out for a look... and with his feedback, we bought it.
Then Frank introduced us to his architect to work on house plans. And as the project progressed, we spoke almost every day. He was very meticulous and careful with the various trades involved... making sure every step was done ‘right,’ with no shortcuts.
Because he did everything he said he’d do throughout the process, he made it very easy for me.
You can trust Frank and his team to do outstanding work because they really do care about the little things... and they take obvious pride in their work.
